High Lift Systems

 

High Lift Systems actuate the flaps and slats in an aircraft, and include the transmission system and rotary actuation devices. Ashot specializes in manufacturing the HLS assemblies and components, which include:

• Universal joints (U-joints)
• Plunging joints
• Diaphragm couplings
• Steady bearing joints
• Articulating joints
• Various types of transmissions and gearboxes (Kink, T and Bevel)
• Long and short shafts for rotary actuation

As a vertically integrated company, Ashot uses its wide range of capabilities to manufacture and assemble High Lift Systems. These capabilities include: machining (turning and milling), gear cutting and grinding, heat and surface treatment, assembling facilities, test benches for final inspection and testing, and 2D matrix encoding. Ashot quality approvals for AS9100B and NADCAP enable us to ship turn-key products directly to the OEM assembly lines.

For more than 22 years Ashot has been the sole supplier of HLS products for several aircrafts, including:

Boeing 747
Ashot has been the sole supplier of the flaps transmissions for the 747 aircraft for more than 15 years. Ashot has manufactured, assembled and tested thousands of transmissions – 8 per aircraft, and supplied them directly to the 747-400 assembly line.

Airbus A380
Each A380 contains 16 gearboxes, 228 U-joints and 14 shafts manufactured by Ashot. Manufacturing, assembling and testing is done in house.

Boeing 787
The new 787 Dreamliner has a new HLS concept comprised of U-joints and diaphragm couplings.
